Could you curb the coffee? Abandon alcohol? Cease the chocolate? Surrender sweets? Break away from the biscuits? Cut out crisps? Shun the sugar? Back off bacon butties?
Set yourself a challenge and forgo your favourite, for six-weeks from the 15th February, whilst raising funds for the children of the fallen.
Whatever it may be, if it is something people know you love, take the six-week pledge, and show your friends and family your dedication to giving up for a good cause.
Sign up as an individual, get your household involved or find motivation with friends. Share your challenge, and your story, by adding photos on social media and letting others know how hard it is to part from the thing you are most partial to. Don't forget to tag Scotty's Little Soldiers and use the hashtag #givingupforgood - Welcome people to sponsor you for seeing out the six-week withdrawal or encourage them to get on board too.
Here's how it works;
Click sign up and create your page. You can choose from one of our page templates or create your own. Update your fundraising story to make it your own and to let everyone know what you are giving up.
Share your challenge. Add photos on social media or update everyone with a quick video diary or story post. Be honest and let your supporters know if you’re finding the daily decline a doddle or if you’re crying over that cake. Don't forget to tag Scotty's Little Soldiers and use the hashtag #givingupforgood - Ask others to sponsor you or encourage them to opt in, on the opt out.
Want to do more?
Some of our supporters are keen to get involved but not in a position to ask for donations. Instead, they are making a small donation to their own page and then asking others to join the challenge, share their social media posts and help to raise awareness of the charity. You could always donate the amount you would normally spend on your forbidden favourite.
If you are keen to fundraise and would like some useful hints and tips then take a look at our digital fundraising information pack here. Don't forget that if you manage to raise £100 then not only will we send you a free t-shirt but you will be helping the charity support bereaved Forces children. £100 pays for five children to receive a meal voucher at Remembrance, or it will enable four children to have a hand selected gift to open on their birthday, or it may go towards an educational grant to help with development. With your support we can make a big difference.
