Summer 60 Challenge

for British Skin Foundation

Join our Summer 60 Challenge to help fight skin disease and skin cancer.

  • There are one million people in the UK who suffer from psoriasis.
  • 40,000 new cases of skin cancer are reported each year.
  • 1 in 5 children have eczema.
  • 7 people in the UK die every day from skin cancer.

These shocking stats are why the British Skin Foundation’s mission is to help find cures and treatments for 60% of Britons that will suffer from skin disease at some point during their lifetime.

We receive no statutory funding, so to continue funding high quality research we need your support. By taking part in this challenge, you will help us to improve the quality of life for those who have skin conditions, including skin cancer.

Be part of our team to fund more vital research. #GoTeamBSF

The Challenge

60% of British people currently suffer or have suffered with skin disease at some point in their life. So, we’re asking you to get moving and raise vital funds by either running, jogging or walking.

60 miles in 30 days or

60 miles in 60 days

Regardless of your fitness level – this is the challenge for you! Whether you’re a fitness fanatic or you’re looking for a chance to exercise at your own pace the Summer 60 Challenge is accessible to all ages and abilities.

Your challenge can take place anytime between 1st July and 31st October 2021. Make sure you start the challenge by 2nd August to ensure you have enough time!

If you’re a fitness pro, why not up the miles or shorten the days?

How to take part

To join the challenge, you’ll need to sign up to Give Penny and create your fundraising page. Give Penny works in the same way as fundraising platforms such as JustGiving – all the funds will come directly to the British Skin Foundation.

Give Penny comes with some cool features. Track your progress by connecting to Strava or Fitbit, but don’t worry if you don’t have either of these, you can upload your miles manually.

How to take part - step by step

  1. Select the challenge you want to smash.
  2. Login into Give Penny or create an account (it’s quick and easy, we promise!)
  3. Create your page and make it unique to you - don’t forget to add a profile picture. The more personal you make your page, the better it will perform.
  4. Connect Strava or Fitbit if you use them. Plus, add in a Spotify playlist so friends and family can donate to add a song to your playlist for extra motivation.
  5. Click ‘Publish’ at the top of the page and then start sharing with friends, family, colleagues and other contacts.

In November, everyone who has completed the challenge and raised at least £100 will receive a BSF t-shirt and Summer 60 Challenge certificate.

Sign up to our Summer 60 Challenge today and help improve the lives of skin disease and skin cancer patients.
