#TheExtraMile with Strava

I have taken on the #TheExtraMile UNHCR (the UN refugee agency) global virtual running challenge! My challenge is to run 100 half marathons in 1 year, concluding with the Virtual 2021 London Marathon! As part of my master’s degree, I am currently researching the role of development education in challenging the misconceptions associated with refugees and migrants. We must remind ourselves that, as persons, we should provide a clear platform for refugees and migrants to tell their own narratives.

Will you go The Extra Mile for refugees?

Refugees escaping violence, persecution and war flee their homes for weeks, even months, to reach safety. Take on our global virtual marathon challenge to take a few footsteps in their shoes together.

Raise £50-£99 to receive your supporter travel card wallet. That's enough money to provide at least 6 refugee families support in their temporary homes.

Raise £100 or more to receive your UNHCR supporter t-shirt. You've gone the extra mile to raise enough money to provide insulation kits for at least 4 refugee families.

We're here to help you as you go the extra mile! Email us at
